The arrival of winter doesn't mean you can't visit museums along Canada's Mormon Trail.
The Remington Carriage Museum is open throughout the winter daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. While in Cardston you can also visit the Courthouse Museum or the Card Pioneer Home by scheduling an off-season tour. Just call 403-653-3366.
In Raymond the Pioneer Museum is open Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 5 p.m. throughout the off season.
The Raymond Museum also hosts Family Night at the Museum from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. coming up Dec. 11. To book a spot email email@example.com or call 403-715-5905.
The Magrath Museum can be reached at 403-758-6618 for information about off-season tours.
While in Magrath, when winter weather is cooperating, you can also take in the trail system. The trail head is located by the campground and fish pond on the south end of town.
The approximately 5.4 kilometre trail follows the edge of the canal up through the diversion headgates. Here it switches back alongside the Pothole Creek before crossing the creek and returning to the campground. Or you can turn west at the headgates and follow the outer loop back.
